Since the inception of Ritchie’s Painting Company in early 2007, there has been many different changes in the world of paint, such as market trends, environmental concerns, quality and health issues to name a few.   We have been adapting to these in order to meet the needs of our clients.

In the early stages, our main focus was residential properties. This is still very much the case; however we are experiencing a growing number of commercial and historical properties.  This has allowed us the opportunity to explore different paint options as well as being able to develop a variety of networks with other trades. In order to achieve maximum coverage, durability and longevity,  there are several steps that have to be taken. These can vary depending on the condition, as well as the present paint that is on the surface.  Whether we are painting the interior or exterior of your home, we will ensure that the appropriate steps are taken to make certain that you will be able to enjoy the new colors of your home for the years to come.

Variety of Paints & Purchasing
Many people are unaware of the different qualities of paint on the market. As with many things, the rule ‘you get what you pay for’ applies to paint as well. The difference between a $35 and a $90 gallon of paint can be quite significant. In the long run with a higher quality paint, you will be able to paint more wall space allowing with better coverage, longevity and durability. Many of these paints also have a shorter dry time, allowing two coats to be applied in the same day.  With this in mind, you will be saving on the product as well as labour.

As government regulations are tightening regarding the use of environmentally friendly products, we are noticing a concern among consumers as well, as more options available to tailor these needs. These types of paint have little to no VOC’s
(less odour, less chemicals), creating a healthier home and work environment for those individuals suffering from asthma, and other airborne allergens. However, it is still necessary to use caution when purchasing these products, as there
are varying degrees of quality and coverage. If you are unsure about a paint product, we will gladly help you choose what is appropriate for your project.
